Digital Paintings

 
 

I’ve come to realize that most people are under a misconception about digital art.  They believe that the programs used (most commonly Photoshop and Painter) seem to magically make the image appear when you click a few buttons. 


Nothing could be further from the truth.  In fact, all these images were created on a blank canvas, drawn by hand and painted from scratch.  Instead of using traditional paints, however, I use the powerful Photoshop program.   The choices I make are the same choices a traditional painter makes - about color, form, lighting and composition.  The program just allows me to not get my hands dirty - and of course to edit and change things in a far more efficient manner.
